Hello PTCers -- long time, no talk. My fault, I know. I blame work, and the fact that I just can't quit you. But forget that, I'm here on important business at the moment and can't be distracted by my abiding love for all things Argyle.
Wanted to post a quick note regarding a fantasy wrestling/e-wrestling community charity drive that I'm hoping folks will be interested in. My full note with detail and other thoughts is available at
http://www.fwrestling.com/a/news/fea...VApFVppk.shtml Child's Play is a charity started by the guys at Penny Arcade five years ago to support children's hospitals. The gist is that children's hospitals work with Child's Play to create wishlists of video games, toys and movies they would like to help support the children in their care while they're sick, away from home, and very often bored.
My thought was that given our long-standing community of online writers/gamers/whatever we call ourselves these days, that a charity devoted to sick children and created by online gamers seems to be a good fit.
As I mention in my note -- we've all talked for a long time about ways to energize/focus/etc. the energies of our communities. I think this is a chance to do it where we don't have to worry about difference in style, philosophies on what makes a great roleplay or how annoyed we are by certain rankings.
The PTC community has been an incredible, tight community over the years. I'm hoping you'll join with me in supporting Child's Play.
Please read the note above and let me know what questions or suggestions you might have. Please post here, or feel free to e-mail me at
